June Sees Increased Cement Shipments via Russian Railways
In June 2026, Russian Railways reported a shipment of 2.2 million tons of cement, reflecting a 6.5% increase compared to June 2025. This translates to over 2,000 additional railcars, highlighting the sector's robust activity. The internal market was the primary contributor to this growth, with domestic shipments exceeding 2 million tons, marking a 4.3% rise.
Export shipments also experienced a remarkable surge, with volumes rising 1.7 times to reach 117,000 tons. This trend can be attributed to the establishment of new logistics chains, enhancing the efficiency of meeting international demand. Russian Railways' management emphasizes the significance of these developments for strengthening their market presence abroad.
Leading regions in cement shipments for June include Krasnodar Krai with 241,000 tons, the Republic of Mordovia with 197,000 tons, and Sverdlovsk Oblast with 171,000 tons. This indicates an expansion in production capacity and an increase in cement output within Russia, positively impacting the national economy.
