Delivery to Kaliningrad, Siberia, and the Far East: why it takes longer and what to consider

Kaliningrad residents complain about the long delivery of goods from the marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon.

Many placed orders back in early February, but have not received them even after a month. The press service of Wildberries explained to "Klops" that the reason lies in the traditionally high season.

Kaliningrad resident Svetlana said that she ordered sports pants for her son back in mid-February. On Thursday, March 6, she received a notification that the item was delayed. The service does not explain the reasons.

Kaliningrad resident Marina also faced delays in the delivery of goods from Wildberries. “And they still have paid delivery! — the interlocutor of "Klops" is outraged. — I ordered candies, but by the time they arrive — they will expire!”

The press service of the company explained to "Klops" that early February and March are traditionally months with the highest demand from customers. It’s all due to gender holidays, as residents of Russia buy gifts for their loved ones in large numbers.

“Due to the increase in the number of orders, we are already increasing the number of freight and sea transport, as well as bringing in additional performers: couriers, drivers for timely delivery of orders. The automated system helps to choose the fastest routes so that during peak hours we can avoid traffic jams as much as possible,” the organization reported.

If a customer sees that the delivery times have increased and exceed the previously indicated limits, they always have the option to cancel such an order in their personal account.

Marketplace employees hope that delays will decrease over time. “We already modernized the logistics center [in the Kaliningrad region] last autumn — this allows us to reduce the logistical load and send more orders from the warehouse in the region, rather than from elsewhere. This positively affects delivery times,” the press service assured.

Kaliningrad residents also complain about the delivery of goods from Ozon. Resident Konstantin ordered shampoo on February 12, with delivery times indicated as two weeks. However, he only received his purchase on March 5.

Konstantin is still waiting for the other items. He added a wooden constructor in the shape of a tram to his cart on February 23, which was supposed to arrive on March 10. But the deadlines in the app have also been postponed, and now the purchase can only be expected on the 13th.
