Record Grain Shipment Volumes Signal New Opportunities
In June this year, a significant increase in the grain shipments by Russian farmers via rail was recorded. According to recently released data, 1.8 million tons were transported throughout the month, marking a 41% increase compared to the same time last year. This trend highlights the agricultural sector's commitment to actively enhance export routes.
Out of the total amount shipped, 120,000 tons were loaded into containers, reflecting a 2.4-fold increase compared to June 2025. Additionally, export figures surged to 994,000 tons, exhibiting a remarkable 2.5-fold growth. The southern ports showed particular strength, managing to export 431,000 tons, which is a 3.6-fold rise.
Alongside the export boom, pressure on infrastructure is growing, presenting both challenges and opportunities for logistics companies. These figures emphasize not only the potential of Russia's agricultural sector but also the urgent need for modernizing logistics systems to sustain this growth.
