Wildberries Skyrockets Warehouse Transport Fees
The prominent Russian marketplace Wildberries has dramatically altered its pricing strategy by increasing its warehouse transportation fees sixfold. Now, if a seller wishes to move inventory from one warehouse to another, the charge for this service will rise to 3% of the total commission on sales, affecting all of the seller's products, not just those being relocated. Previously, the fee was considerably more manageable at only 0.5%. With this significant hike in transport costs, many marketplace participants are likely to reassess their strategies regarding inventory placement, which could lead to changes in their business operations. Such shifts in pricing could have a major impact on the Russian e-commerce landscape, particularly for small to medium-sized enterprises that rely on flexible inventory management. In light of the current economic climate, sellers will need to adapt to these new conditions in order to maintain their competitiveness on the platform.
