Air Hong Kong Expands Fleet with New A330 Cargo Jet
In a strategic move to enhance its logistics capabilities, Air Hong Kong has finalized a leasing agreement with Ohio's Air Transport Services Group for a newly converted Airbus A330 cargo aircraft. This addition marks a significant increase, bringing the airline's total A330 fleet to 15 planes, tailored for dedicated freight services. The new aircraft is set to primarily operate routes to mainland China and other regional destinations, fulfilling the logistics needs of major client DHL Express. This expansion aligns with Cathay Cargo's objective of bolstering its operational capacity, given its ranking among the top ten global cargo airlines by traffic volume. Cathay Cargo currently manages a fleet of 20 Boeing 747 freighters while also overseeing cargo transported on Cathay Pacific's passenger flights. The airline has also placed an order for eight next-generation Airbus A350 freighters, highlighting a commitment to growing its air freight operations in a competitive industry.
