Only a Fraction of Forwarders Excel in Decision-Making Skills
A fresh study from Magaya and Adelante SCM reveals that a mere 13% of freight forwarders and customs brokers consider their data-driven decision-making as excellent. Despite a significant investment in technology to streamline their operations, many companies in the logistics sector still struggle with enhancing their decision-making processes and digital integration.
The report, titled 'The New Strategic Logistics Service Provider: What Winning Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage Leaders are Doing Differently,' surveyed 125 industry professionals. An alarming two-thirds of the respondents indicated that the level of uncertainty in their operations has escalated compared to three years ago. Just 11% felt their organizations were well-integrated with customers, carriers, and partners.
With the growing need for artificial intelligence and innovative solutions, stakeholders in the logistics sector recognize the importance of adapting to the dynamic market conditions. However, the findings highlight a substantial gap between technology investments and their effective implementation in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
