RZD Innovates Transport Links for Streamlined Logistics
In today’s economic landscape, the integration of various transport modes is becoming increasingly critical. The Russian Railways (RZD) aims to establish cohesive logistics pathways that combine rail and water transport effectively. Irina Magnushevskaya, the deputy head of RZD, highlighted this strategy at the 'River' forum in Cheboksary, emphasizing that such chains could enhance cargo delivery, meeting clients' needs for speed, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.
Magnushevskaya stressed the importance of viewing these transport sectors not as rivals, but as partners working towards synergy. She cited large-scale construction projects, like the M-12 highway, as a successful example of collaborative efforts, showcasing how rail and river transport can optimize the supply of construction materials and reduce delivery time.
RZD is at the forefront of implementing innovative strategies in its operations, which marks a significant move towards building a user-friendly and efficient infrastructure. Given the evolving logistics trends, these initiatives will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive solutions for shippers and enhancing all stages of delivery.
