Surge in Freight Volume on the Southeast Railway
The Southeast Railway is experiencing a remarkable increase in freight volumes, with a 19% rise recorded in May 2026 compared to the same month last year. Achieving a total of 390,000 tons, these results underscore the positive impact of enhanced construction activities and ongoing transportation infrastructure repairs. Construction materials have played a pivotal role in this growth, soaring to 126,400 tons, which translates to around 1,800 freight car shipments. This uptick not only highlights the burgeoning demand in the construction sector but also reflects the economic revitalization of regions such as Voronezh, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Penza, Saratov, and Tambov, where non-metallic materials are being actively delivered. Thus, the performance of JSC "FGC" illustrates not only current successes but also paints an optimistic picture for future freight volume expansion. This trend can be attributed to strategic efforts aimed at improving and modernizing railway operations, a critical factor in the broader logistics and economic landscape of the country.
